Philips Marries High Style Lighting And Led Technology

Technology advancements enable high efficiency and design innovations

Philips has introduced a Thomas Lighting collection that employ new Philips Lumileds® LED technology. Philips in house designers took advantage of enhanced flexibility offered by the LED’s virtually invisible light source to create beautifully designed fixtures in the Thomas Lighting fresh traditional style.

The new Thomas Lighting Tarragon collection marries function with fashion resulting in a piece of artwork that offers timeless, classically inspired design with refreshing light.

LEDs are light emitting diodes. They are a highly energy efficient light source, and are rated for a service lifetime of up to 20 years. Their small size enables design flexibility that was not possible with incandescent bulbs or other traditional lighting sources.

The LED modules used by Thomas are a uniquely developed solution by Philips combining 3 Philips Lumileds® Luxeon Rebels in a synthetic and aluminum housing. This module,  known as a “puck” enables an optimal light output. The Philips Lumileds® pucks feature consistent light color temperature of 2700K with a color rendering index (CRI) of 85 for optimal color and 350 lumens of light output with the greatest efficiency over a lifespan of 20 years, and feature dimmability with an electronic dimmer.
