LED

An LED is a semiconductor chip embedded in a plastic capsule. Because they are small, several LEDs are sometimes combined to produce a single light bulb. LED lighting is vastly more efficient and longer lasting than any other type of light source.

Originally used primarily for accent lighting, recent technological advances have brought LEDs’ energy efficiency and design flexibility to all types of indoor lighting fixtures.
